DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, August 16\, from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.\, for a special afternoon of public programming on the Marquis de Lafayette’s friendship with James Monroe as Highland commemorates the final leg of Lafayette’s 1825 return tour to the United States. Guests will enjoy a live conversation between the two Revolutionary war veterans and afterwards can explore specially selected Monroe objects and documents\, historic archaeology\, and participate (or experience) dramatic readings of Monroe and Lafayette correspondences.
